Hello -
I have a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country with a 3.3 liter v6 and it needs front bearings. Is this a job a non-mechanic can do? I try a lot of things on cars and I do brakes an$d radiators and some other things, but i have never done bearings. You Tube videos show that it might be fairly simple. Is this something a non-mechanic can do? The local mechanic wants $800 for the work, but I found bearings, brake pads and rotors at A1 auto for $250 and I want to do this myself - should I? If so, is there anything I should watch for?
Thanks
That has a wheel bearing hub assembly. It's replaced as a unit. If you've done brakes you can do this.
Just be sure to have a sledge hammer (to whack the old hub to free the axle splines from it) and a torque wrench to torque the new hub assembly bolts and the axle nut to specs)

Thanks for that @jack62!
Bearings should be replaced as sets, with new bearings and races, which generally need to be hammered out and new races installed. If you're comfortable with that, go for it. Be careful to set the correct bearing pre-load.
