Hello Scott
I have a 2010 Sienna that recently had a problem with the air conditioning. The LED light on the AC switch started to blink. Push the button again and the LED blinking stops. So it happened several times like that. I had the mechanic checked out and told me the AC compressor was dead and needed a new one. I did not believe him. so I did not use the AC until a week later and when I turned on the AC button again it worked fine; However, what I am noticing is when I am driving at night time, the AC compressor works fine and no blinking LED on the switch but when I am driving during the daytime and the outside temperature above 85F degree, the ac LED light blinking and no cold air is blown. Push the AC switch off and on again, it worked for about two minutes or longer before it blinked again. What can be the problem? Is the 2010 Sienna has an AC flow sensor switch that could cause this problem? I searched on the internet and could not find any info on the 2010 Sienna AC flow sensor. Or does the compressor sometimes work and sometimes does not work means it is about to end its life's end?
AC compressor run time depends on ambient temperature. Anyway working on AC requires very specialized tools. It's not worth DIY. Take it to a pro.
The HVAC is computer controlled. You're going to need a professional-grade scan tool to do bidirectional testing.
