2011 Honda crv exl touring chassis shudder 350,000 kms
Hello,
i experience shudder when I accelerate between 80-100 km/h. If I release the accelerator pedal there is no shudder from the front right hand side of the vehicle. Tires are new. Links are all new. No suspension issues, no pulling or vibration from steering wheel. Honda says it might be CV axel shaft but says no way to tell without replacing them.
thanks
It should be trivial to check the CV axle joints for looseness, as well as suspension components.
Stay away from the dealer and take it to a good independent shop that is capable of doing a proper diagnosis.
it could be that 350k have taken their toll on the transmission and the TCC is getting weak.
Transmission shifts up and down smoothly.
it has nothing to do with shifting
What is throwing my off is no shudder from front right hand side?
So when accelerating, the shudder is all over, or centered on the vehicle, but then you let off and it is still from the front right side?
A misfire can also cause a shudder, or more of a jerking, and can make you think the transmission is trying to go into gear or something, and is sort of little jerks. It happens often at speed, on the low rpm side of a gear, when pressing the gas. I am also getting it in my 05 matrix when in reverse, when backing up a hill when I hit the accelerator.
A misfire, or series of misfires, will be countable. My friends F-150 would do single misses, or quite a few.
Not sure yours has that, as a shudder would be more of a shaking I would think, and it wouldn't be isolated to one side.
Shudder is front right side or so it seems. Only happens on hard acceleration between 80-100 km/h. List off the accelerator and it stops. Transmission shifts smoothly up and down.
@cafone In that case, it doesn't sound like a misfire to me.
Transmission shifts up and down smoothly.
That doesn't mean there isn't a problem in the torque converter.
