Would you recommend purchasing a Hyunday 2011 sonata hybrid with 120,000 miles?
NO! The gasoline models had enough problems already and the engine usually blows up between 100 and 130k miles and the Hyundai hybrids from that time were extremly weak. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.
If you have to get a hybrid, I would recommend a Toyota Prius V. It is not sporty in any way but it gets good mpg is very practical and will last double what the Sonata would. Just know most hybrid systems start to have issues around 100k miles, if it is a Toyota then it could do 200 maybe 250, gasoline cars even more.
Not at all. It is a junker.
The best hybrids made are the Toyota Prius, and even Scotty will say they are usually good up to 150,000-200,000 miles before any serious work might be needed with the battery/hybrid system. Hyundai’s (even the regular gasoline versions) are good for up to 100,000 miles - usually - but start to have more issues beyond that and their reliability curve (beyond 100,000 mile) starts to diverge from a comparable gasoline Toyota. I imagine the Hyundai Hybrids would be even worse because you now have the added complexity of the battery hybrid system. At 120,000 mile you are really gambling, plus there’s fewer mechanics available that really know how to work on those hybrids and the ones that do will charge a lot. At 120,000 mile I would walk away from that vehicle.
