No, I would pass on it.  On a regular basis here on this forum we get members coming on with a serious issue or another with their Hyundai’s/Kias.  The one you are looking at is past 100,000 miles and you are entering the next 100,000 miles really rolling the die on issues.  Also, the original warranty (10 year/100,000 mile) that Hyundai is famous for no longer applies (it only applies to the original owner) so any repairs needed and you are on your own.  They don’t last anywhere near as long as Toyota’s and Honda’s, esp. past 100,000 miles.

Run away as fast you can, from this piece of crap car.

For $6000, you can get a nice 10yr old Camry/Accord..

As the others have said, don't do it if you value your wallet. That Sonata is at the age and mileage where that generation of Hyundai starts to seriously fall apart.

No, do not purchase it. Sonatas are awful, and so is Hyundai as a brand. It might be a "asian" vehicle so it seems reliable, but no. Korean cars like Hyundai and Kia have gone absolute crap. Like GM and Chrysler.

I had a 2011 Sonata. Not only I paid too much for that piece of crap, That piece of crap took me to the dealer so many times for recalls after recalls , problems after problems its too much to list. The only favorite day I had with that car is when I traded it for a Toyota. Now its somebody else's problem. Hope this helps.

Sounds like buying a Hyundai is like buying a boat. Happiest day is when you sell it!

RUN

I could write a whole essay on how horrible the Sonata especially this generation was but I'm just going to leave a link to the owners complaint data and see for yourself:

As far as I can see here in Ireland, Hyundai seem to be markedly more reliable than in the USA. All our police cars have been Hyundai since about 2012, and if any of you know the condition of Irish roads once you're outside of cities and large towns, they're poor to put it mildly.

I may be wrong entirely but it seems the European Hyundai are better built as compared
