2012 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6L Catalytic Converter
Good Morning Scotty, Long time follower and I've enjoyed getting some helpful knowledge over the years.
My car is reading a bad Catalytic Converter and received a quote of $1900 which is not in budget so i ordered the parts i need off ebay, but now is the question. How the hell do you access the bolts for the bank 2 cat. bank 1 i think if i cut out the flex pipe ill have decent access but i cant see a way other than taking the entire front bumper and raidiators off to get to bank 2. thank you in advance.

Yeah they don't give you any working room. They put the engine and exhaust and everything in the vehicle. Then they put the other parts on top of it just to be swines. They really don't want you working on them. That's why exhaust shops make money. They have a settling torches. They can cut things on and off when it's hard to reach them in weld them back on
i was afraid that was the case!! thanks for the information and i guess Ill see how it goes.
Update on the Town & Country Catalytic Converter Replacement..
I tackled the job this weekend in my driveway, replaced cats, crossover connector, flex pipe and front muffler. probably took 14 hours but didnt require taking off the front bummer and radiator. thank god! still a massive pain in the butt. You need to remove the top 2 bolts then hammer the bottom of the old cats until it becomes dislodged from the bracket holding it then with the cats out of the way you can remove the bottom bolts holding the bracket in place. i used aftermarket parts and it was a bit of a pain to get it to work but the cost savings was unmatched.
Did you diagnose the problem that caused the CAT to fail in the first place? If not, you'll be doing this job again.
