Hi Scotty,
I've recently discovered your channel on YouTube and I've actually just bought a new 2022 Corolla, you've convinced me lol. I also have a 2012 town and country and I have read the transmissions are junk. It's been pretty good so far, has 167,000 miles and I bought it used in 2019. Nothing major mechanical, just replaced the oil cooler/filter housing as it was leaking. But would you recommend a coolant flush? I've heard if you haven't done one and it's got a lot of miles it's best to just let it be. Is there any truth to that?
Thanks in advance and appreciate your videos on tips for maintaining and I'm excited for my new Corolla!
Thanks,
Aaron
Edit - I did the coolant flush and oil change and I guess I wrote this in a hurry. What I meant to ask was about the transmission fluid. I know these vans are notorious for bad transmissions. I don't have any issues with it, shifts ok. Just wondering if I should change it for preventive maintenance or just let it be and not poke it?

You're probably thinking about transmission fluid where caution may be needed. It's always safe to flush the cooling system and it should be done every 5 years with most of today's coolants. (Some of the newer coolants are longer life.) It's a good idea to replace the thermostat as well.
Appreciate all the responses here! So I did the repair myself and changed to aluminum as well!

Thanks again for quick responses today! This forum is awesome and I've been binge watching Scotty's videos lol.
See the FAQ.
Does your owners manual say something about it? I think alot of modern coolants are 7 year/150k miles. Id check the manual.
Hi Aaron,
Same year and model with similar mileage, I actually just preformed the same Oil housing replacement (i went aluminum instead of the OEM plastic housing - stupid design if you ask me) but to do the job you have to drain the coolant so if it was done in a shop they would have had to drain the Coolant anyways so you should be good.
