delayed shift

Hello!  I recently purchased a used 2012 Ford Escape Limited, AWd with the 3.0L v6 flex fuel engine.  I am used to driving older cars.  They tend to shift at around 2000 to 2500 RPMs.  This one shifts between 3000 and 3300 and sometimes as high as 4500 depending on how much throttle I give it.  I've watched several "test drive" videos and they seemed to shift in the same manner.  I was just wondering if this was normal for this vehicle?  It sounds like it is reving too high to me and sounds almost like a sports car but without sports car power.  It does shift just fine, just concerned about long term damage.  What are your thoughts?

Oh, and it has a mere 75000 miles on it.

It does not seem to be normal. The transmission does not shift when it should. Considering the transmission problem history of Ford Escapes, I think you better off taking it to a pro to check it.
