2013 Honda Accord Coupe 71,000 miles time to replace timing belt??

I have seen people recommend doing the timing belt service at 100,000 miles, but Scotty says in his videos to replace around year 8 or 9 since the belts get old. Do you guys think I should pull the trigger on this service at year 8?

Well, it's an interference engine, isn't it? Any doubt? Change it. But I'd suggest using an OEM belt. And, while you're getting that done, check the valves. As Scott has said, Honda's require an occasional manually tweaking of those.

Thank you sir, I will definitely buy OEM parts.

I would change it.

Thanks I will definitely do.

You can easily take a look and see the wear. Assuming the layout is similar to my 1999 Accord Coupe, there should be a top cover at the side of the engine for the camshaft pulley. Remove that cover and you can inspect the timing belt. If there are cracks, probably time to replace. If no cracks, probably okay to keep going.

Thank you sir, I will definitely take a look at the belt myself.

Your owners manual should have an interval, for example my Kia's gives both a mileage and time interval. Yours should too. I have seen anywhere from 48 months/4 years to 10 years/ 100k miles.

Depending on whether the engine is interference or not, my answer would change to your question. My family's car got 100k miles out of a Kia OEM belt and 170k miles (don't know if it was changed before) out of a Corolla, so you don't want to take a risk if its there, but if its a non-interference engine its almost pointless to change it.

I have looked but found nothing about timing belt replacement, but I'll do a visual inspection myself.
