2015 Toyota Camry SE, burglar alarm goes off after changing battery

Hi,

I bought a used 2015 Toyota Camry SE from a private party owner last year. The owner misplaced the keys and had installed an aftermarket lock/unlock keyfob system in the car (with a rocker switch installed next to the traction off switch, although not sure what the switch really does?). They then went to the dealer to get the original key working so now how the original key as the key and the backup keyfob that is also installed.

Fast forward to today, my car battery died, and I installed the new battery, but the car won't start. I unlock the car with the OEM key fob, and the car beeps twice and unlocks the doors. However, as soon as I open the door, the burglar alarm goes off for 30 seconds (only horn and hazards flash). I tried turning the key to the ignition/crank position, but nothing happens (except the alarm goes off again) and the starter doesn’t even engage. I tried the following: turning the previous owner's rocker switch on/off, removing the battery terminal and resetting the car, putting it in neutral and starting the car, but it won't budge. Can you guys think of any possible ways to reset the burglar alarm and get the car to start?

Thank you:)

Just from what I could read online, it could have a corrupted key fob memory, and in some cases if the key fob battery is low, failing. It can set off the alarm as well. Don't take my advice to heart though. You could always have it diagnosed at a shop

Thanks @frodofragins, I replaced the keyfob battery last december, however I can still replace it today and see if it does anything
