My 2017 Buick LaCrosse has 50,000 miles and the check engine light has come on. My trusted independent repair shop says the code is specific to the fuel module. This has been replaced 3 times (I was only charged once) and soon thereafter the check engine light comes back on with the same code. They eventually replaced the fuel pump but the problem persists. My mechanic has called local GM dealer mechanics he knows as well as putting the issue out there on all the internet mechanic related web places he knows. Nobody seems to have an answer.
I googled some sites regarding this car having any reported problems. One site (https://www.motorverso.com/buick-lacrosse-problems/&source=gmail&ust=1663635247766000&usg=AOvVaw0pbXVLYYxX5IXbcX2d9d3 0"> https://www.motorverso.com/buick-lacrosse-problems/ ) says there is a design flaw in the engine whereby excessive carbon buildup occurs resulting in a check engine light with code specific to the fuel module. The site says replacing the module will only help for a sort time before the check engine light turns on again. The site says there in no known fix but recommends replacing the sparks plugs and cleaning the fuel injector. This fix will last about one year.
The car has been just fine up until now. Any thoughts? Thanks.
If you can find it in stock somewhere you could try the ATS Carbon Clean product that Scotty has talked about in his videos. Unfortunately it appears to be currently out of stock just about everywhere due to supply chain problems.(Maybe you can contact the company to find out when it is expected to be available again.)

My mechanic did a fuel injection service which cleared the code
You could also try the old fashioned way to clean the carbon on a regular basis. Get a spray bottle of water and spray it into the intake while holding the rpms at about 2K. Don't spray too much, just a little at a time. I do mine at each oil change, about every 3K miles. Use a fine mist, not a stream.
