2020 Rav4 TPMS Inaccuracy

Hello,

today I looked at my 2020 RAV4’s tire pressures using the Toyota app which gives a readout of the individual tire pressures. My drivers side was 39psi and my passenger side was 37 psi.
I decided to check them with an analog gauge and got 35psi for the drivers side (-4 from TPMS) and 37psi for the passenger side. I then used a new pressure gauge and got the same results as my analog gauge.

Is it possible that my TPMS is just that inaccurate in two tires or should I look into a new pressure gauge? I have an AWD model so I’m a bit OCD about it especially since I put 75+ miles on it per day.

thanks in advance

I wouldn’t trust the app. I have the app for my 2020 CH-R and once in a while it shows a tire reading less than 15 psi but when I put a gauge in the tire it’s normal

the tpms is mainly a safety device to make sure you don't drive on flat tires. It's close enough so I would leave it.

Obviously, trust your dedicated gauges for the actual pressure.

I also noticed with tpms systems there's quite a delay. So it might actually be showing pressure from 5 minutes ago, and temperature can change pressure a lot.

I would trust the hand gauge more than the car reading.
