Hi Scotty.
I have a 2021 Kia Sorento with a 2.5 liter turbo engine and a dual clutch 8 speed AWD transmission. Sometimes the car will not go into reverse or drive when I start it up. After a few minutes with it running, it eventually goes into gear and I go on my way. Sometimes the transmission will make a clunking sound that you feel when taking off from a stop. It seems to happen most often in lower speeds, but it may have happened at other speeds as well. The check engine code that comes up is P1C2E92. I have taken the car back to the dealer 3 or 4 times and they have been unable to resolve the problem. Previously there was a recall on the oil pump that supposedly the dealer corrected. Except for this annoyance, I like the car. Any advice for resolving this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
If you bought it new check out the lemon law in your state. Those laws typically give the dealer and manufacturer a set number of times to attempt fixing a problem and if they are unable to effect repairs they are supposed to buy the vehicle back.
They won't just roll over and do that of course. If you proceed in that direction you may need to consult a lawyer who is a lemon-law specialist.
