Ok so I push the start button and nothing happens, no power no messages, lights come on door chime works but that's it. Was able to pull a B2785 lin communication problem code, before I go and tear everything apart does anyone have any experience with this kind of code and maybe a start point. Thank you all. The car battery is fully charged and on a maintainer.

Please don’t double post, thanks.

Take it to the dealer to fix it under warranty.

Do you know if it was flooded?

Did it ever work under your friends ownership? Or did they buy it as is?

Flooded never worked. BCM was replaced thats all the history I got. It's going to be an interesting one.

Start by checking these 3 fuses in your passenger compartment (underdash) fuse box.

Thanks I did check all the fuses including the engine and relays, I think I'm going to have to really dive in on this one, flooded cars are unpredictable. I don't want to waste any more of anyone's time I was just looking to hear from someone that might of had worked on the specific code (B2785) and could say start here it worked for me but I'm out of luck. Had a Dodge with similar symptoms and all it was, it had a bad RF antenna but it was not a flooded car. Thank you all.

Dealers will not work on it, it has a salvage title. I was asked to look at it for a friend. Just looking for some insight before I head over.

What's the reason that the car has salvage title?

Flooded,,,, he replaced the BCM after replacement the door chime came to life and the lights work nothing else. Because it's a flooded car I really did not want to go look at it, I know the headaches it could be now I also think (correct me please) by changing BCM the key might not work but all keys lost can't be done because of the b2785 code no communication so I think he is going to throw parts at it lol. It's really not an easy solution and he doesn't want to tow car to me and working outside in the cold I will not spend more than 20 minutes. That's why I am asking if any of you ever had that code and a start point as it's going to be a long run for me to check all the immobilizer system and ignition system just to get the car to turn to the acc position then worry about engine starting and or programming. Thanks all and happy holidays, be safe out there. Any more suggestions thanks in advance.

in the future, please mention relevant information like this from the get-go instead of giving us the runaround. Thanks.

You right and I apologize but I'm just interested in the B2785 code and if anybody ever worked on that section of the car where I could use some information to start at, by the car be a flooded car everything else most not be in great shape either. But for the beginning all I need help with is the B2785 LIN communication Code if the rest of the car is junk I really don't care I'm only told to go work on that so I repeat again only need help on that code and any suggestions that might save me from having to remove the entire dash assembly to check all the systems that might have nothing to do with with B2785. Thank you and I know a flooded car is a money pit.

Thanks I did check all the fuses even in engine compartment and some relays they all good but still no acc to ignition when button is pressed. This is a flooded car and BCM was replaced before I looked at it at first and that's when I got the b2785 code. Thank you

Was the BCM reprogrammed?

No it was not. I can't get communication with ECU because a can't turn ignition to the on position I believe it has to do with that B2785 LIN code but since the car was flooded which other modules would set that code. Like how would I program the BCM if I can get that done then I could move to the next step. Thank you

hi, I have the same problem with the Toyota Corolla Cross, also drowned in water. I replaced the smart key unit with a new one. I’m diagnosing code B2785
Now looking for a solution to the problem
I wanted to ask if you solved the problem and how you did it

Hi, yes I did solve the problem. Had to replace steering lock, key ecu, and ID code box. Plus had to add 2 keys. That was a long time ago. Now depending on your situation you may be able to just swap one part if you have a working key.

@jorge Hi thanks for the answer,I just read this ,the fact is that the car is in Thailand, I have not dealt with this problem for half a year, now I have returned to Thailand and will continue to solve this problem, now I have the error b2785,I changed the id code box, smart key box,I did not change the lock the steering wheel because no water got into it, I also did not change the smart key itself .now I have error b2785, I understand correctly there is no point in trying to program this system while error b2785 is in the system and you need to first find the cause of this error

Try doing the 30 minute self programming at dlc pin 4 and pin 13 to program your key ecu
