Hi Folks,

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L 45,545(miles), yes, only 45k and a Cali car too. I was idling the car and reved rpms in order to get ATS Oil Treatment properly circulated. Engine did not overheat but when I shutdown van, the coolant recover tank was bubbling to overflow with coolant overflowing from the tank. No other overheating probs. Do you think it could be a poorly sealed radiator cap? I already tested for exhaust gases in the radiator with the blue fluid tester- test indicated negative for exhaust gases.

Thanks for all of your help!

p.s. And yes, I baby this thing as I know how poor their reliability can be if abused.

The bubbling air means air's in the system. A bad cap will make your system have low pressure, which can cause coolant loss. If you have no coolant mixing with oil or vise-versa then get a OEM cap. Pressure testing the coolant system will reveal if you have some other leak. New cap would fix it , if that's the leak.

@hixster Thanks Hixster. The OEM cap was replaced with a Motorad aftermarket cap. I will get a Mopar one and see if that solves the issue. A rather affordable fix so I might as well.
