G'day Scotty. A departed family member left me a 1959 thunderbird with the 3 speed automatic. Any idea how much life it could have in it as a "weekend car" with near 200k miles? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well you're in luck my friend these cars are worth some $$$ https://classiccars.com/listings/find/1959/ford/thunderbird

They made cars WAY better back in the day and as long as you take care of it like its a newborn you should be fine as long as you don't drive the pants off it. The biggest thing is IF it's 100% stock the car is probably worth something(if it's in really good condition) so keep it stock. As a bonus those cars are also simple to work on and there's heaps of aftermarket parts for those old cars and feel free to use them if the car isn't in great condition and you don't care about potentially selling it at some point. Other than that congrats on getting a badass car! That thing should hold its value if in good condition and if it is try and only drive it when it's going to be sunny out and keep it in a garage when not in use and try not to let it sit for long periods without being driven to keep it in great shape.
