I previously asked about replacing timing chain on 06 Trailblazer... so have decided to buy a full size truck. See many for sale on used car lots with about 120k miles. My question now is: Where do I look for a good truck? In the old days people advertised in newspapers... Is Craigslist a safe bet? Thanks
My experience is there is no 'safe bet', but I'd probably choose Craigslist over Facebook Marketplace. Around here FB marketplace is flooded with fake adverts. You run into some of that on CL but not near as much as FB marketplace these days.
I will say I bought my current truck from a used car dealer, and do feel like I got a good deal. Dealer had a very good reputation online, which if you go the dealer route you might want to look at their reviews. I think I found that truck on Cargurus.
If you do buy from an individual, do the things like making sure you see the title and it is in the sellers name, have a reputable mechanic check it out, etc.

And Regardless of whom you buy from, do yourself a favor and show to a trustworthy mechanic before buy it.
