After watching a video on Scotty recommending A.T.S. Fuel Additive, I decided to use it in my 2006 Toyota Sienna with 104,000 miles. I bought the van from an older man in New Jersey and it had 91,000 miles back in 2020. (15 years with low mileage) Although he had no service records of the van and he was the original owner, I saw that the van runs fine but when I hit 100,000 miles I decided to start doing the maintenance and taking care of it more. I used the additive that goes into the gas tank when my gas level was at a quarter tank and then filled it up with shell gas. A few days later, I used the treatment in engine and followed the directions by running the engine at 2,500 rpm for 15 minutes and then changing the oil. After the Oil Change, I noticed that the engine was making funny noises. "Kind of but not" I heard the rev a little higher and some small clattering noises. So I drove it home and shut the van off. The next day, everything went back to normal and the rev is smooth there's no more noises. The engine is quiet and smooth like before.

1) I was wondering if this procedure was normal or did it do minor engine damage?

2) How often should I use A.T.S. Treatment? Once a year or only if the car has a-lot of carbon, Etc.?

3) What are the damages that can happen when a person uses too much Fuel Additives/Treatments by putting them in the gas tank and in the engine?

I would not worry about it.

The best treatment for your engine is to change the oil and filter frequently. You can inspect the cylinder walls and the valves with a borescope to see what shape the engine is.

Damage to your pocket.

I always though that too many fuel additives can ruin your car's seals?
