Are 3rd and 4th generation Lexus LS models a good combination of luxury and reliability?

Are 3rd & 4th gen Lexus LS (LS430 & LS460, 2003 to 2017) a reliable choice for a used luxury car? I am attracted to them for the price, RWD, and the V8. Obviously gas mileage is a drawback. Are these as dependable as other Toyota/Lexus products of a similar vintage, or is the money better spent on a lower-end model that might be newer and have fewer miles?

See below on why in the long run (esp. true if daily driver and intend to put well past 100,000 miles on it), it’s not a good idea to get a Lexus LS:

Besides the gas mileage, the parts for the Lexus V8s are expensive and being a Toyota product, they usually do not break that often but things finally break. On the other hand, the V6 Lexus also give you a nice ride and you have less maintenance costs as well.
