Hello Scotty,

I've been watching your videos since 2004, thank you for the content.

I have a 2016 accord v6 coupe with a naturally aspirated 3.5L. great car never had any probs now at 78k miles. I have a drain and fill transmission with a dip stick, I change my fluid every 40k miles. Since it's time to change again do u recommended putting AT205 reseal just as a protective measure in the tranny oil? No leaks from transmission or engine

Thank you!

No, don't do it. That stuff is only for aged seals that have dried out and leak. They're near the end of their lives, and it costs a lot more to professionally replace them than a car is worth. A 6 year old Honda is nowhere near that point.

That stuff could be used in something like my 43 year old Pontiac that has a slow seep from the front seal of the transmission. It leaks maybe a pint of fluid every 3 months, so I just add as it leaks out. I can get 3 bottles of Valvoline Dexron III for the price of one bottle of AT-205. I'm also a little freaky about putting chemicals in car fluids that aren't normally there. Softening seals can possibly lead to them popping out because they're malleable again, and pressurized.

Never add additives especially since you are already on top of the maintenance.  You say you are draining and filling every 40,000 miles which is great - keep that up!
