2012 Toyota Camry LE (2.5L inline 4), 121,000 miles, Automatic

Should I change or flush the ATF in my 2012 Camry? I bought it used at 86,000 miles from a Toyota dealer, no problems to date. Assuming the ATF has never been changed, should I change or flush? Additionlly- use Toyota WS or Amsoil ATF? Assuming if a change to Amsoil, this would mandate a flush.

Do a drain-and-fill change for the transmission fluid, DO NOT flush! Drain out the old stuff, measure how much comes out, and put that same amount of brand new transmission fluid back in. I would recommend using OEM Toyota Genuine fluid. You could get away with using a different brand, but its best to just stick with the factory fluid when it comes to transmissions.

Thanks- this is what I have read concerning modern transmissions.

AD99 is correct.  Additionally, when you change the ATF, make a note of the mileage and from that point onward change the ATF at the recommended intervals to prolong the life of the transmission.

Daywalker- Thanks for the feedback. I intend to change, not flush with Toyota Ws ATF, and establishing an interval.

I went the same route as AD99 with the exception that I used Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic. That was 15K miles ago with zero issues. I did however, drain/fill 4x over a month period to remove most of the original WS. This was/is on my 2005 4Runner. YMMV but real world experience with a Toyota product.
