ATP At205 question

I have an 2006 Hummer H3 with the 3.5 inline 5 cyl (215k). I had a small valve cover leak and was hoping to use the AT205 to stop it. I used an 8 OZ bottle and it seemed to work. However 3 days later I seemed to have sprung a good sized leak from my front main seal.  Should I try to use another bottle of AT205 or keep driving            (keeping eye on oil level) to see if what's in there will stop the issue?  BTW i Just 100 miles ago changed my oil

There should be no expectation of AT-205 helping with a valve cover leak. It's not designed for that, it's designed to soften and swell dried-out, shrunken rubber seals that are still otherwise intact. It should not be used in an engine where those seals are still good.

I would not put any more in, you don't want to over-dose it.

Hi Scott. Thanks for the video on AT205. I bought one and finished pretty quickly. I live in Australia and AT 205 is pretty expensive on Amazon. I'm wondering the No leak Prestone power steering fluid might work a s replacement to spray on bushes, rubbers etc.. as a protective measure? I have some spare bottles and thought of using them instead of getting AT205. Thanks in advance

Ok you guys were right, at beer:30 my buddies and decided what could it hurt, well now I may have a leak at the rear main seal.

So answer to my own question: if it is NOT leaking DO not add atp At205, or "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

no absolutely not. Oil degrades rubber.

Thanks for the reply. So, wouldn't AT205 be considered as an oil then? ❓

AT-205 Reseal is similar to brake fluid. It swells rubber seals that have shrunk, but are otherwise intact. AT-205 will not affect valve cover gaskets, because 99% of the time they break. If you have a leak, put UV leak dyefor motor oil in the engine, run it for a couple days, then get funky sunglasses at an auto parts store that brightens UV based dye.

I don't have any leak or anything of that sort. I had some tiny squeeky sound form rear arm bushing (Toyota Kluger in AU- I believe it is Highlander in US). I already applied AT205, it vanished for a day or so and came back on. I'm thinking to re spray a bit more. But, i just wanted to know what the alternative option for AT205 for future use. DO you reckon DOT 3 might do the same trick of AT205 (it is very corrosive on paint - that's all i know)

With a 2006 H3, the bushings are more than likely torn by now.
