Auto Transmission: Is it normal for a cold tranny to shift conservatively (sluggish) than when it warms up after 10 minutes? Aftermarket canned tune.
thx
@john-firewalker
Well, … yes. In some cases, at least. For example, BMW implements a variable red line. Yes, … red line is set relatively low when you start a cold car. And as a drive train keeps warming up, … red line limiter keeps climbing up, up and up, … until, oh, … about 10 minutes of driving, it fixes itself at a design parameter. I’m not aware if any other manufacturer does the same.

Could also be the tune along with normal wear (not a clue as which one you used or if it's any good...all ain't!). What's the miles and service history on trans?
