I have a 2013 AWD Ford Edge SEL with 191xxx miles.  I was using it to jump start my 2017 Peterbilt 579(which this time was unsuccessful) for maybe about an hour or so.  The batteries were drained so I left it hooked up to try and recharge them enough to crank the truck over.  Well, as I stated earlier that didn't work.  When I was leaving in my Edge the *AWD disabled* message popped up and the car started idling funny.  I stopped and turned the vehicle off and let it sit there for a couple minuets.  Then it drove fine.  I drove it to a gas station for fuel which was about 2-3 miles away using the interstate to get there at about 60-65mph with no issue.  After I got fuel, I attempted to drive somewhere else, and the same message popped up again.  I pulled over turned it off, waited a few mins, restarted it and was able to drive it home which was about 3-5 miles on the interstate at 60mph with no issue.  I google the code and according to google it could be wiring/sensors, overheating of the AWD system or the usage of the spare tire, which, I am not using. There are also no leaks that I can see.  I personally feel like I overloaded the electrical system by leaving it hooked up to my truck for so long.  I also read in a ford forum the procedure for resetting the Battery Management System--BMS.  Would that be a potential fix to reset the electrical system? I drove the car the next day to where I park my truck with no problem getting there.  On the way home the code came on again and I performed the same procedure as before.  I have a BlueDriver Scan Tool, so I scanned the vehicle, but no codes came up.  I also have one more issue.  My carrier bearing is shot.  So, I'm wondering if that could cause an issue with the AWD system? TIA!!!!!

Could be. You can have your electrical system tested for free at the parts store.
