Best jack/ramps for getting under car.

Hey guys. What's the best bang for my buck, purchasing something that can lift my car so I can change transmission fluid etc.

I was looking at these: https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-RhinoGear-11909RCMI-RhinoRamp-Capacity/dp/B0B46X24WQ/ref=pd_ybh_a_sccl_143/132-7540806-1665554?pd_rd_w=Czbum&content-id=amzn1.sym.67f8cf21-ade4-4299-b433-69e404eeecf1&pf_rd_p=67f8cf21-ade4-4299-b433-69e404eeecf1&pf_rd_r=03PH2JB8JQEEBFTZ9EMP&pd_rd_wg=bkqWG&pd_rd_r=a8eb274a-71a0-4d90-9b77-69bb60eca3c0&pd_rd_i=B0B46X24WQ&th=1

Any recommendation would be awesome. I'm on a tight budget.

You did not state what type of vehicle you will be working on. The ramps may be too steep for a car with low clearance or you might want something heavier duty for a full-size truck or SUV. Also the ramps won't be any good for work requiring wheel removal such as working on brakes or suspension.

Ahah! Thank you. 2001 buick park avenue. So, yes, low clearance.

That could be a problem. I wouldn't be able to use those ramps with my car due to low clearance in the front but I'm not familiar enough with the Buick to say. (I use a floor jack and jack stands.)

Amazon links do not show for some people (like me). Here is a photo and a link to the product ...

Amazon links here don't show for me either for whatever reason, but you can easily get the "asin" number from the link and plug that into Amazon's search to find the item.

I use ramps for my cars and full size van (well within rated capacity) and I love them. They're not Rhino brand. Just whatever my parts store had.

Clearance may be an issue as Chuck suggested. I would suggest getting them somewhere locally, rather than online, so you can just bring them back if they don't work.

You should also search the forum, as we've had this question a few times before.

I got a low profile jack, Daytona brand, aluminum, from Harbor Freight. Works pretty well, but in retrospect, I should have gotten the cheaper non aluminum one. I thought I’d be getting some weight savings, but it was negligible.

Low profile because I didn’t want to struggle getting under my cars.

How is the aluminum jack? I was thinking of getting it because I don't want to carry 84-100 lbs if I can avoid it. I have an apartment vs house so having it in the car would be a better place. Also, I'm considering buying a 2012 RAV4. Would the aluminum Daytona 2.5 ton be enough?

The jack works fine! IIRC, the RAV4 is 3500 lbs, which is 1.75 tons.

But, I feel like there isn’t much of a weight savings to make the price worth it. It’s still pretty heavy. In retrospect, I should have done a side by side test of the and lift them in the store to feel the weight.

If you are at Harbor Freight, you could find their boxes, and see if the weight differences is worth it for you.
