All the modern Volvos are European high tech vehicles owned by Chinese company Geely.  Volvos used to make good, long lasting vehicles back in the day, but if you plan to buy and hold on to the vehicle beyond the warranty period it will turn into a money pit.  The engine choices range from 2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder to a 2.0L Turbo and Supercharged 4 cylinder to a plug-in hybrid (with turbo and supercharged 4 cylinder with an electric motor) all very complex - and that is not even accounting for all the electronics making up the car.  My advice:  if you like it, just lease it!

I'd get a slightly used one and keep it for a few years and sell it.

The depreciation is insane you would commit finanical suicide buying a new one.

I have seen them listed 2 3 years old for 30% of the msrp price, check lower mileage few year old ones out.

If you want your car to last forever, look elsewhere, like the Lexus ES.

After a while it will turn into an endless money pit, but they are better made than Audis and BMWs

We buy Volvos made in China.
We buy third party parts made in Sweden.
