Buying a used car from a dealership

Scotty. I’m considering buying a used car 2018 Toyota Camry V6 or 2018 Honda accord 2.0 turbo. I know you’re not a fan of turbos but I really like the pep of the Honda. Make me feel good about buying a Honda over a Toyota. Both cars have under 30,000 miles. {black}:idontknow:

Both those cars are still too new for you to get a deal on either. I’d look at models which are 4-5yrs old so that you can save the most cash while getting the best life out of the vehicles.

Again, I usually recommend you stay away from turbo Hondas due to potential oil dilution problems. The 4 cyl Camry has plenty of power for the average driver. The V6 Camry costs more to repair.

I was torn between a 2020 Camry XSE and 2020 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport. I decided on the Accord. Coming from a 2019 Charger R/T, the Camry was just too sluggish for me.

First thing I did was buy a catch can. The engines in the Hondas are GDI and Turbo, so it's a nice safety net in the long run.

It now has over 3k miles and no issues whatsoever yet. Oil dilution was a problem on the 1.5T's and some 2.0T's, but I've not seen anything yet. So far, I would make the same decision again.

theyre both the best cars on the market right now for econ cars.

the toyota will last longer because it has a naturally aspirated engine unlike the honda with smaller 2L with a turbo. Also the Honda has a CVT which is like a pulley with belts for the transmissioin.

I believe you will be more content with the Camry as it has a full size engine with nothing forcing more power out of it and a full size transmission.

As the cars are  barely depreciated Id suggest looking at the 2016 Camry with the 6 speed Auto because alot of people dislike the new Camry  8 speed because it shifts too fast.

Better to buy a 4-5 year of car in my opinion

If you like the Honda, look for a pre 2017 Accord, the body is nicer and has a better engine with no oil dilution issues. The 2017 was last year they made a v6 for the Accord paired with a 6 speed auto. I think you'd like that if want a fast and reliable car.

Why buy 2018 used when dealers are discounting 2020 models this time of year. For example, new 2020 Camry XSE V6 loaded @ $32,000.

This is the right time of a year to get big discounts. Shop around, you'll be surprised what's out there !
