Hey Scotty! I hope you are well.
I am 19 and I want to buy a nice car as my first one, I don't want to spend much but I always wanted a Fourth Generation Ford Mustang. Specifically I am looking at a 2003 Mustang has about 60,000 miles on it and costs about $2,700. Its a V6 Mustang, What do you think? What should I look for in a car like this, if you have better recommendations please feel free, I'd buy a celica if I find one!
Thanks scotty
If the mileage can be verified and the title is clean, AND it passes a mechanic inspection, that is an excellent car and price. The 3.8L V6 can go a LONG time if properly maintained. They may not have had much punch to them, but they were still extremely fun rides.
Hy!
If it really has only 60k miles, it can be decent. It is V6, those are not abused like V8 ones. Another plus is you picked last years of the generation.
Perhaps this video might interest you. Anyway roadtest it and have it checked by a mechanic if you like it.
Good luck!

Mustangs are fine, … real brutes. Vee-6s are OK, … but you have to find a good one - not abused, not rusted, … preferably offered for sale by the first owner, … a matured one!It shouldn’t be too difficult, … considering a long production run.
Now, … for an alternative: … Miata. Miata if you are interested in driving a manual transmission. My sister owns one, one with a convertible hard top, NC model, …
… soft tops are inconvenience if it’s your only car.
Another alternative: … Honda Civic, 2 door. Nice reliable, fun car! Practical, too.
Anyway, … best luck with your search. Remember though: … must find a good one, not abused, not rusted, … not modified by in any shape or form. And most importantly, … approved by an independent mechanic for its soundness and value, … before you commit your cash!
… disclosure: … I drive a Miata - NB model - too - but summers only!
Best,
F.S.
If you can get it cheap enough and really only has 60k go for it, they can last a good bit.
