Buying used car odometer correct?

Topic starter

Many members have shared concerned about odometers being correct on used cars and if there were affordable scanners to retrieve "total distance" directly from the PCM or other modules.

Me too. I've been looking into it and frankly haven't found any scanners under the $800 range that can do it.

Then I came across  FORScan. Specifically the FORScan Lite App for phones/tablets.

Only works for Fords.

Works with OBD-Link wired, wifi,or  bluetooth adapters.

I think the app costs about 6 bucks.

The FORScanLite website shows it retrieving "total distance" from the PCM as well as the mileage reading from the odometer.

Anyone have any experience with the FORScan Lite app or using FORScan?

Can it do this?

A lot of guys use Forscan for the F-series trucks. I always found Autel made much better equipment when it came to actual scan tools. Plus you can use their stuff on vehicles of all makes, not just Ford's. I never really got into FORscan because it does void your warranty which I didn't want to do.
