I have a 2003 Nissan maxima bad shocks, exhaust leak only has 121,000 but thinking of upgrading to a new car. Civic, Corollas are top choices but but for a thousand or two savings is it worth it to get an elantra? Looking at 2012-2014 65k and under.

No.

Just get a Civic or a Corolla & laugh away at all the Hyundai owners who think they saved ~$2000..

The Civic or Corolla will outlast the Elantra with much less repair costs.

One of my good friends and his sister both literally drive that car. This has BAD IDEA written all over it.

I would spend whatever it takes to avoid anything Hyundai/Kia.

It would be the most expensive $2000 that you ever "saved".

How do you feel about Fusions? Scotty recommended in one video

They are decent with the V6 engine, although they are not as well made as to the Japanese rivals and they built a lot of them in Mexico until the later gen models which were made in Michigan.

Don't save your $2000 for an Elantra, you will much happier with the Corolla or Civic. The Elantras don't hold up overtime.
