Car shows overheating but it actually isn't

Hello I have a 2007 Honda Civic EX with 250,000 mi I've been noticing my car temperature meter shows the car is rising temperature higher than normal however the coolant fans still turns on doing it's job. I should mention the thermostat was changed 2 years ago. Could my thermostat be stuck? or the sensor gone bad? or just low on coolant? or could it be a complete different reason??

Are you sure your engine is not running too hot?

Purge any air out of the cooling system and test your temperature sensor to see if it's within specification.

I would assume not only because the coolant fans are still turning on (Not sure if that is a valid assumption) I diagnose the sensors this car has 2 of them.

That is not a valid assumption. Though if the engine was overheating badly it would likely have been damaged by now if you've been driving it that way for a while.

Are you losing coolant?

I diagnose the sensors this car has 2 of them.

You need to find out which one of the sensors operates your temperature gauge, then test it to see if its resistance vs. temperature curve is within specification. (That kind of sensor is typically a thermistor that changes resistance with temperature.)

That information should be in the car's shop manual. There are manuals available at charm.li but I don't know if they're detailed enough to provide that info.  (Maybe someone else here might know, I've never worked on a Civic.)

just low on coolant?

I don't know. Maybe you should check it.
