Change transmission and differential fluid?

Hello Scotty, love your channel. I have a automatic transmission 2015 Mazda3 2.0L I got recently with 132k previous miles. The carfax showed engine oil changes every 3000 - 5000 miles, but no reports of transmission or differential fluid changes. Should I change the fluids or is it too late? I am hoping drive this car as long as I can.

My friend also recently got a used car, a 2018 Nissan Versa with 70K miles. I haven't seen the carfax but I'm assuming the dreaded CVT transmission never had a fluid change. If she gets a transmission fluid change soon how long should she go before the next one? Should she change the differential fluid?

Should she change the differential fluid?

Differentials are splash lubricated with no clutches, as long as it's an open differential.

See the FAQs regarding whether or not you should change transmission fluid. We get this question at least once a week and there's some good information there.

More like several times a day! LoL

Haha, you're probably right.

@justin-shepherd - By my estimate we're up to about a quadrillion "should I change my transmission fluid" type questions at this point!
