[Solved] Chevy Cruze Diesel NOX Sensor Code

Hey Scotty,

My wife’s 2017 chevy cruze diesel (61k miles) came up with a trouble code P249D- closed loop reductant injection control at limit, flow too low. This happened after she filled up and came home from a long road trip. I googled it and I think it is a back NOX sensor, like an oxygen sensor for diesel vehicles. The dealer says sensors aren’t covered under warranty.
We called a local guy who said those types of sensors can be programmed for sensitivity and shouldn’t be going bad because diesel sensors are higher quality than gasoline. He also mentioned having the intake manifold cleaned of any oil or residue if the sensor is changed. What do you suggest? My wife says the check engine light now went off.

Thanks

It's right in your warranty booklet. Open it up and show it to them.

Ok thank you. I guess I will have my wife get her paper work on her car and I will go through everything.

I looked in her warranty booklet. Now, it says exactly what you showed me. It also says under California epa warranty the entire car is basically covered for 15 years, 150,000 miles. Now is that only if your car is registered in California? We are in Indiana.

Typical Chevy dealers are full of s*** that has to do with the anti pollution equipment of a car and that is covered. Tom Scotty says fix it or you going to call the government agencies saying they're breaking and I pollution laws

Thanks Scotty. I looked into it, and the dealer told my wife that only catalytic coverters, obd computers and ecu computers are covered based on the EPA’s web site. No sensors.
