2006 SCION TC ° MANUAL TRANS ° 85XXX MILES

Scotty, my ex husband put a new clutch kit in my car. After he was finished we bled it but the clutch pedal is still on the floor. When i try to start my car (out of gear) and go to put in first gear it pulls forward like the clutch isnt fully engaging. When i try to start it (in gear) it automatically jumps forward to take off. What is causing this issue? Could it be the throw out baring in wrong? Help.

Sounds like your pedal isn't moving the clutch fork enough to disengage the clutch.

You may still  have air in the system.

When bled properly, and assuming your clutch pedal master and slave cylinders are good, you should have a nice high pedal.

Be sure with that new clutch, the adjustment at the clutch pedal was made so you're getting a

full "stroke" of the pushrod into the clutch master cylinder.

Leave about 1/4 inch of "freeplay" travel before you feel resistance when pressing the pedal

Sounds like the throw out bearing may have been installed backwards and is barely pushing in the pressure plate, thereby not  separating the clutch disc from the pressure plate.  Or the clutch pivot fork may be incorrectly installed and not operating the throw out bearing at all or very little.

Maybe have someone depress the clutch pedal as you watch the clutch slave cylinder pushing the clutch fork. Does it seem to be moving the fork enough?
When the clutch is held to the floor, does the slave cylinder "fade" and slowly retract after a while?
If so, you have air in the system or a bad slave or master cylinder.
