We have a 2019 Buick Encore we bought certified used with 3000 miles back in June 2020. It now has 7500 miles. It has a 1.4L DI turbo 4-cyl, with a 6-spd automatic transmission. It's our first winter with the vehicle. We live in Fairbanks, AK, where the coldest days can be -40 to -50, sometimes less. Now that it's getting down to 0, we noticed the car doesn't get up to operating temps when we start it and let it run for 10-15 minutes. Instead it will get as high as the 1/4 mark, or halfway to operating temps, so it's not blowing hot air, only lukewarm. This continues driving it downhill into town, and even on the flat land in town. It will finally get up to temp on the way home going up the long hill when the engine is working more. Summer and fall the temps were normal. Our 2006 Honda Ridgeline and 2014 Ford Fiesta (even smaller 1.0 3-cyl engine) both warm up fine at extreme cold temperatures. What could be the issue? Thanks!
Have a higher temperature thermostat installed on it
