CRC turbo and intake GDI engine cleaner

Did anyone try to clean intake and turbo with CRC cleaner on GDI engines with visible effects? What if on Kia Sorento 2L turbo there are two MAP sensors just before and after turbo, how to clean intake then in this case? Any idea? Instructions said to apply directly to intake or as close as possible, but 2nd MAP sensor is right there in intake chamber. Dealership induction cleaning service with BG is 244$+tax.... painful! 🙁

Please help!

I have used this spray before on my turbocharged 2016 BMW. I'm giving you my thoughts based on my experience using it. I'll start off by saying that, YES, it did help improve engine performance. It was noticeable after I used it. But getting there was a bit of a journey for sure! I'm glad you asked about both MAP sensors because you need to AVOID all sensors when using this spray. When I used it, I only sprayed past the MAF sensor, but before the other two MAP sensors (that was a rookie mistake because I actually wanted to clean the turbo too rather than spray it into the throttle body directly). I needed to clean those sensors with MAF sensor cleaner afterwards because they started to read data improperly. Anyways, I followed the instructions exactly how it was stated. When I started to drive my car though, I went into Limp mode and the check engine light came on for running rich. In my opinion, this is TOTALLY NORMAL because the product is removing old carbon deposits that will eventually burn in the engine. Loose carbon deposits that burn in the engine will cause some knocking and pre-ignition. I actually saw a whole bunch of carbon soot inside of the exhaust tips after using this spray (my exhaust tips are always kept clean), so it actually does remove it (but most likely not ALL the carbon).

But because of all this carbon burning and what not, my engine did hesitate very badly for a few days before all the carbon and cleaner was burned out of the engine completely. However, when my engine cleared up, it started to run GREAT! I usually don't recommend people buying these additive cleaners and sprays because they're a waste of money, but this cleaner actually impressed me a lot. GDI engines need carbon cleaning regardless of how and where you drive. Although it's not the same as walnut blasting the carbon, it sure does help alleviate some rough idling and running issues. I recommend going straight to walnut blasting if you can, but if you need a quick cleaning for very noticeable issues, this spray is perfect.

Thank you! Very valuable input! Some turbo engine owners insisted on application at air intake but others are claiming better success on application at one of the vacuum, lines directly into intake, leaving throttle uncleaned. I will try the "safe" way first, as mileage is not critical yet. Thank you again!

No problem. Please let us know how it works out for you when you try it!

I just inject it directly into the airstream to clean the valves and any throttle the problem with the Mayo sensors are unless you want to take everything apart you'll just leave them alone

Thank you! I would not afraid to apply at air intake unless 1st MAP is really inaccessible to clean afterward. Thank you again!
