Daihatsu Sirion Fuel Filter

Hello,

I would like to change my fuel filter as preventative maintenance since my Daihatsu Sirion is 15 years old. The problem is that I can't find just the filter to buy and I don't want to buy the full assembly as there is nothing wrong with the car.

Where can I find just the little bag filter and what is the product number ?. The car is exactly the same with Toyota Passo 2006.

Thank you
Chris

In the case of the sirion I think sourcing an internal fuel filter would be close to impossible, but I’d try looking on Malaysian / Japanese websites as it was quite popular in those counties.

In general fuel filters, on these kinds of not common cars or “orphaned brands”, are kind of a hard thing to find, especially internal ones.

I’m currently also having issues finding parts for a niece car and so far most parts I found have been from eBay.

Where are you located?

I’ve found the part for $4 on an Indonesian website.

However, if you’re going to take the trouble of getting to it, you might as well change the entire genuine Daihatsu fuel pump assembly for $36..

@InThrustWeTrust Thank you for your help but the website seems not to ship outside Indonesia. Yes you are right if the whole assembly is only $36 then no reason not to buy it. The websites I was able to buy parts from online are: amayama.com and jp-carparts.com but both are too expensive $200+:

https://jp-carparts.com/toyota/partlist.php?maker=toyota&type=113120&fig=2211&part=2390897205

That's why I though I should just buy the filter, but I don't know the product number for just the filter.

Damn.. I doubt Daihatsu sells only the filter, it seems like it’s sold as part of the entire pump assembly. Hence the lack of a part number on online stores. Do none of your local auto parts stores have any aftermarket filters for your car?

Yes I will have to do some more searching.

If you look here the filter is clearly removable:

Also the Daihatsu Sirion also shares parts with the Toyota Aygo . The fuel pump looks like its identical but the filter looks larger. I have found the code for the Aygo filter:  23217-BZ010

Just got a reply from amayama:

it seems that they don't sell the part on its own. The cost for the whole assembly is 430$ + shipping
