Which Diagnostic Tools and Coders for VAG vehicles?

Hey Scotty,

I’ve been looking at scan and diagnostic tools and have decided on the MS906BT by Autel as it has good coverage and performs most bidirectional controls. I also want to perform more in-depth coding like changing needle sweeps or lights etc which will only be on VAG vehicles so in saying that I’ll need to get a VCDS Vag com. Long coding I believe. The thing is I’m not sure what to get. I know I need the software on a laptop and an interface to connect between the vehicle and laptop but I’m not sure what of which I should be getting. I’ll be working with VAG vehicles from 2002 to 2017. I don’t run a mechanics shop so I’ll be looking for something along the lines of the weekend warrior but I do have a coding background.

thanks,

Jack

Want to get one of those veg com scanners for the Volkswagen the auto is a good scanner but it's not all that big on VW VW crap is all specialized but those vacuum ones are decent for the price you run them on your own computer

Hello,

Thanks for the reply Scotty. I was hoping to use the Autel one for performing DPF functions like regens etc and hand brake release etc. The VCDS would be used for special accusation functions.
Thanks!
Jack
