Dodge Dakota

Hi, I have a 99 dodge dakota 3.9 4x4 with about 207,000 miles on it. (Junk I know) I’ve changed most everything I can think of but it’s still having terrible idling problems. To the point that if you’re driving it and come to a stop the truck will still try to go on its own with your foot mashed on the break. it was throwing codes P1899, p0505, p0138. Ive took it to a couple different garages and nobody can seem to figure out what’s going on with it.. any help is appreciated!

What happens if you put the car in neutral? Does the rpm go up?

Rpm goes up

Clean the throttle body. If that did not help, you may have issues with the throttle position sensor.

I’ve changed the sensor already, still no change. Maybe taking the throttle body out and cleaning? Or replace maybe?

Start with cleaning.

Did you use OEM parts? AutoZone and such have lifetime warranties, but are not up to par with OEM. They're made in China by the lowest bidder so they can stick the Duralast name on it. I've gone through two Duralast blower motor resistors in my truck and the current replacement is going bad again.
