Dodge Ram squeaking sound in the back.

My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi is making a squeaking noise in the back. If it is my drive shaft, would it being dry make that sound? Would it even get to a point where it would dry? And if it is cause its dry can I grab a tube of grease and lubricate it?

I told my customer about the squeaking. He said he's 95% sure it is the brakes making that sound. That the sound is to indicate... you guessed it. Time to change those suckers!!!! Can that be the cause to? Back brakes are shot but front brakes are great.

Also, it squeaks from 0mph-30mph. And I think I can't hear it after going that fast because... Hold on, your guessing? Well you guessed it right again... the wind is making up for the sound! Along with everything else.

Another thing is I can kinda let go of the gas a little bit and caught it to the point where the squeaking is gone. 0 mph to 15mph it will squeak, but then ill let off on the gas a little bit and then gas it up really light on the pedal again and 3 out of 5 times ill make the squeaking go away. Weird??? Yes, I know.

I think its the brakes. When I put the emergency brakes on the truck it hardly keeps the truck stopped as if it's in park. Meaning leaving the truck in DRIVE while having the EMERGENCY BRAKE on.

Anyhow, has anyone have the same situation as me? Need more details to see what's going on? Let me know if you need some more details from me to pinpoint this issue my Baby Girl is having.

Thank you!

Your back brakes are likely shot, drive shafts don't really need lubricated. If it's off balance, you will notice pulsations as you drive, that increase in frequency as you drive faster.  Let's keep the innuendoes to a minimum. This is a family friendly site. Thanks.
