My door handle needs to be pulled hard from outside to get it open but pulling the handle from inside is smooth.
Why is that so ? What can I do to get it fixed?

I had a similar situation with a 99 Nissan... The metal rods that have nylon bushings geared up with the handle may have partially come out or gotten out of alignment. The nut or a clip may have dropped off, like on mine. Other than a foreign object, it could be a very simple mechanical thing.
That's a "watch a few videos, look for pictures, find an exploded diagram to see what parts should be there and take the door panel off to look at it and see if it matches the way it should be" job.
There may be a history of a problem with the door handles too. Wouldn't hurt to google your "year, make, model, problems" - Who knows, maybe there's a service bulletin that'll get you a free repair even at this age.
You should fix it before the handle breaks right off
