Hello, I have a 1999 Acura Integra GS-R with a manual transmission. I bought it about 5 years ago in pristine condition with very low (43k miles probably mostly in-town, city driving) from a veteran that had it as his garage queen. It currently has 120k miles (80% highway driving). Within the past 2 years, I've increasingly noticed that the gearbox has a tougher time switching gears quickly (more so in the winter time). I thought it was my clutch but I just recently replaced the clutch with an OEM style Luk branded clutch and am still having the same problem. I notice it increasingly with the low temperatures outside. Do you think it could be my sycros going bad? If so, is it worth using a particular brand of MTF or Sycromesh to help alleviate this problem. Right now it has new OEM Acura/Honda MTF in it along with the new clutch.
I would first remove the shift lever and check for excessive wear of the shift lever bushing(plastic cap that snaps over the shift lever ball.)
