Should I buy this Corolla

Hey Scotty,

I am seriously looking at a used 2003 Toyota Corolla 4DR sedan S from a used car dealer(West Coast Motor Sports). They are asking for $5100 it has; 133207 miles, one owner no crashes, no major repairs, no major body or interior damage, everything works.

This seems like a good deal but iv never bought a car before. Plan on buying it no financing or anything. Do you have any advice for a new time buyer especially at a used car dealer.

Thanks. I love your videos!

I am also looking at a 2010 Honda Accord LX-P sedan. Private seller, one owner, no accidents, garaged, great condition. Asking $5999.
What do you think?

That sounds like a lot of money for an 18-year-old Corolla even in this crazy used car market. Most used car dealers are thieves. The most important thing is to have the car checked out by a good mechanic. If the dealer won't let you do that, run away.

Thanks.

Since it's a lot newer, on the face of it that sounds like a better deal, and you don't have a sleazy used care dealer in the mix. However anyone and everyone can lie when selling a car, and condition is everything when looking at used cars. Be sure you have a good mechanic check out any candidates you're looking at.

Those were bulletproof cars. That car can last the rest of your life. It does sound a bit expensive however.

That seems like alot of money.  Prices have gone up though so check your market out. Do not trust what a dealer or even a regular person tells you about a vehicle. Have a mechanic check the vehicle out before purchasing. If the dealer refuses walk away.

I like your vehicle choices. I won’t repeat what the others have said. Having it checked out by mechanic is great advice. Best of luck

my advice for a new time buyer at a used car dealership;  make sure that when you leave, you still have your pants on.

Ha thanks everyone. I am only looking at private sellers now. I am in the LA area so cars seem to be more expensive than average too.

I just bought a one owner 2006 with 134k miles for $2000, but it will need some work, runs drives, 3 accidents, but partially submerged only once 😆

Should make a decent beater
