Hi Sir Scotty! I am Greg and i'm a big fan of your videos. I'm having trouble with my Ford Fiesta 2011 A/T that is like 9 years old. I haven't started it for a year since i was stuck in a different city for i served as a medical frontliner during this time of pandemic. Changed the battery since it was dead then i got a "transmission malfunction, service now" message from the screen. I also noticed my speedometer is not working, then theres this shrugging feel when the gears are shifting in low gear,l feels like the other wheel is spinning faster than the other. ABS light and traction light turned on so i hire a man i saw online to scan my car and he says the abs light wont turn off even after clearing the codes so it might be my ABS module. I really cant afford an abs module at this moment since it cost more than half the value of my car and it was just a guess from the technician. I am desperately asking for your advice if ever you have encountered a similar problem that connects all the dots. By the way, i tried disconnecting the battery and connecting the positive and negative but abs light and traction light still on.
i really hope you can give me an advice about this.
-Greg
When you checked the battery after you got back was there a corrosion on the terminals ??? The problem is when you leave your car like that and the voltage on the battery starts dropping the corrosion starts. The problem is cables are connected to everything. Maybe someone can help you good luck.
Did you jump start that car with that dead battery ?? that could have caused some damage to the main computer.
thank you for taking time to help me sir. i used my dad's battery from his truck to start the fiesta. It felt like there is something really going on with the transimission because it sometimes will remain in neutral when you put it in drive after a stop. one thing i noticed is that normally before i dont have to step on the gas for it to run slowly on drive. now it doesnt do that anymore. It is kinda dangerous esp on traffic because you cant predict the power it will give for it will sometimes feels like the high gear, sometimes low, sometimes neutral. Is it connected to the abs module that the technicia said was broken? thanks again sir.
Dont say sir to me i feel weird :p. So you changed the battery before you started the car?? Or you jump started the car with your dads battery?? If you changed the battery then meybe the computer needs to be reset, if you jump started it could have fried something. I can t help you more then that sorry, try getting obd Reader or go to mecahnic to reset all errors and see if that Will help. If not, then the problem could be in many Electronic parts not Just 1. The pro łem with jump starting Old dead battery is there are voltage surges that can damage Electronics. Below around 9v car computer should turn off to protec itself but... Shit happends. Try contacting scotty maybe he can help :/
