Heya Scotty! Got a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0l V6 w/ automatic transmission. Truck has been sitting for a while, and when I took it on the road, the rpm at 55 seems about 300 - 400 higher than it used to. I checked the brakes; they aren't binding. And I had just changed the atf + filter. Maybe it's my imagination, but do you know what could make the rpm rise?

What is the mileage? If it was never changed and is now well past 100k miles, your transmission might be starting to slip. If that's the case putting the old fluid back in will help fix it, if you still have it.
