[Solved] Front Brakes Still Pulsing after rotor and pad replacement

I have a 2011 Chevy Suburban 1500 LTZ 4WD with 186K miles. Noticed some pulsing and slow speed stops so I replaced the front rotors and replaced the pads. Now the truck still pusles after driving a bit and was wondering why this is happening. All surfaces were cleaned and floating pins regreased. Seems this happens when the brakes heat up a bit. The pulsing is better than it was prior to rotoe replacement. Any ideas as to what may be the problem? Any help/suggestions would be appericiated.

Update. Old PC crapped out back on with new one. After looking and thinking decided to pull rear wheels and check things there. Pads we a bit worn but everything seemed fine. I said what the heck..Ordered new rotors and pads for the rear and guess what. PULSHING GONE. I've always been told or assumed that brake pulsing was from the front. Anyway, just wanted to share what fixed it on my project.

Check your wheel bearings.

Hmm.. A "shaking in the steering wheel" would be more indicative of warped front brake rotors.

A bad tire can make a vehicle feel odd/weird when braking. As the tire warms up it can be more noticeable.

Put the rear wheels on the front and test again.

is the steering all loosey goosey? Have the alignment checked.

My mechanic recently replaced my front breaks on my car for the same reason, they were shaking and pulsing. He got good quality rotors for the front but he then turned them. He said even the good quality rotors he's been buying for years are starting to come in the box not true and needing to be turned to make them so.

Any other ideas?

You could check the rotors for runout using a dial indicator.

Wheel Bearings were replaced 2 years ago and there is no shake in either tire

Tires are 1 year old and there was never any shaking when stopping at slow speeds..Just the pulsing

Just the pulsing

Is it possible, you describe that 'pulsing' more in detail?

Feel in the brake pedal?

Intermittendly more and less braking of the wheels?

Pulsing in the brake-pedal is often described as usual in ABS-systems.

Nothing felt in the brake pedal. Just grabbing letting go (pulsing) at slowing to a stop. I have heard of this with the rotors(As to needing to be turned) and have read that as well on other fourms. Light brake pressure at slowing is where the (grab let go grab let go) pulsing occurs.

Any other ideas? Still doing it..thinking taking the new rotors and having them turned very lightly to see if that helps

At first, you had your old rotors at the front and noted pulsing on light braking.

You replaced these rotors for brand new ones, and the pulsing is still there, but less in intensity.

It is possible, the new ones had a warp out of the box.

You could (should) measure warp with a micrometer dial on a stand after taking the wheel off and rotating by hand.

That will show you what's wrong more accurate.

Note: is the contact area between rotor and hub plane and clean? When not, this will induce a warp.

So look for this first.

where did you get the rotors and brake pads?

I replaced the factory rotors with new ones from Nappa. Not the cheap but the middle proce range. about 90 per. The pulsing was worse with the old rotors and the new ones have reduced the pulsing but it is still there. Not a first tho. Seems to happen once the brakes heat up. Pulling my hair out over this one. Changed these things many times over the years and NEVER this much trouble. All parts purchased from local NAPPA store here.

Any other ideas?

Yes, the one Chuck posted 4 days ago.

There is no shortage of crap rotors out there.
