Fuel Filter Replacement Kia Soul 2015 2.0L Automatic

I watched Scotty videos and you stated to keep things running, replace fuel filter.  *I did not realize there was one  I already replace, air and cabin filters regularly.  I believe my fuel filter is located inside the gas tank under the fuel pump.  I stopped at a garage today and they told me my Kia Soul had no fuel filter.  Do not all cars have fuel filters? I wanted to check with you just to confirm. My car as 91,000 miles on it (purchased it new) and I do not believe fuel filter has ever been replaced.  Thanks in advance for your input.

Also have question regarding oil changes. I get them regularly and would like to ask: Should I change now to a high mileage synthetic oil on next oil change?

I have seen this picture, however, is the gas tank under car accessible under the car or under seat in back of car? (not front seat or passenger seat) Is this something I can do myself? I am going to take it somewhere now, however, would like to do myself.

I’m not sure. However, from the image, it looks to be accessible from underneath the back seat.

You should be able to check easily by lifting the rear seat & checking for the circular flange/opening secured with bolts.

Is this something I will and or HAVE to do myself? I have taken to 2 different shops. BOTH SAY this is not something that needs done. That it will last as long as car. I know you have to go into gas tank and it is under the fuel pump. SHOULD this be done? OR am I to wait until fuel pump actually breaks and job costs over $1000 for repair?

Check the maintenance section of your owner’s manual. It should give you a list of all the items which needs to be replaced periodically.

This is the location of your fuel filter - https://www.kiasoulforums.com/attachments/2014-soul-fuel-tank-jpg.132008/

DO NOT change to synthetic oil now that your vehicle is high mileage as it may start to burn oil thanks to the synthetic oil being thinner. Just stick to the manufacturer oil specification which you’ll find in your owner’s manual.
