Fuel pressure sensor

Hello, I have a 2016 Lincoln MKZ 2.0 turbo awd with 118,000 miles. I got code po18b. The car runs fine right now. Is it a bad idea to drive the car? I can’t get the car in until Monday and I am worried about doing damage of getting stranded. Is this the code for the fuel pressure sensor voltage? What can I expect to fix it? Thanks

There are two sensors. Is Po18b the first sensor or the sensor nearest to the injectors? Do I need special tools? Do I need to worry about high pressure?

Check your wiring and connectors for looseness and corrosion.  If that's not it, you'll need a new sensor - AutoZone - #800-90048 - $61.99.  Just unscrew the old one, screw in the new one and plug in the connector.  If you're going to a dealer, watch out.  They charge like a bull and will try to find other, more expensive ways to get your money.

Thank you. Can I attempt to replace on my own? I have no experience with high pressure fuel systems.

Yes.  In the fuse box, find the fuse for the fuel injection system.  Remove the fuse.  Start the vehicle and let it run until it stalls out.  Shut it off.  There is now no pressure in the fuel system.  Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure sender, unscrew the old one, screw in the new one, connect the wiring.  Replace the fuel injection fuse.  Start the vehicle.  You probably saved yourself $500.
