- I have an 06 Lexus GX470 with 190K miles. Great SUV but car recently starts to loose power to excelerate while going on steeped hills from time to time. RPM rev to 3K while speed drops to no higher than 45 mph even at full throttle. What is wrong?

If it isn’t the cat, I’d change the fuel filter & pressure test your fuel pump.

When both my Prius and X5 had trouble going up hills even when flooring it, it ended up being the catalytic converter being clogged. I had to replace them both, and both worked amazing after replacement.
I got a code for the Prius and my mechanic diagnosed the X5, but I figured it was the cats
Make sure to have a mechanic verify. Unless you know how to verify yourself with a scan tool.
