Hey!
The ride of the Honda City has been a lot Harsher after I had the wheel balancing, aligned and rotated. I thought it might have been due high air pressure, but that was not the case. I don't know what to do. And yes, before you ask, all the struts are brand new, so they are not the culprit here.
I forgot to add that the rotation pattern is criss-cross.
Make sure the lug nuts are all tightened to the correct torque. Lots of times, these places just slam the wheels back on with an impact wrench. Do not trust them.
yeah that could be it
If it's just after the alignment too then yeah I'd be inclined to believe it's probably shop fault here. You'd be surprised how many highschoolers want to be a mechanic end up at like a jiffy lube or something and can't even tighten a wheel up proper. Took my dad's truck to big O tires just the other day and the guy couldn't figure out how to put the wheel back on. It was insane to me. Maybe he was nervous with a customer around? Idk but to me it was literal stupidity. I ended up doing it myself and the shop was just like "okay then"
Also, somebody could have completely screwed up the alignment job. It happens.
I would add, get a printout of the alignment. This should show if the alignment was done correctly
Good point.
the alignment is done properly, I checked it in person.
An update, I have gotten the tyres rotated again, this time Front to back and back to front. The ride now is much more bearable and is much better. I don't know why this had happened, because I have rotated the tyres before also and have had nothing like this.
Have you checked for a bent rim? Even a slight bend will cause poor driveability.
Yes, I have. No bends. But I think I should also mention that my alignment was slightly hindered when I was driving my car on the highway and my right front tyre blew, because I live in India and the roads are oh so nice :'). So might I have bent something? Control arm perhaps? I didn't notice anything really when the car was jacked up, but may be a really slight bend?
Correct.
